Mission
The mission of Randolph Community College Library Services is to provide
information resources and educational computing technologies to enhance
and strengthen the traditional and distance learning instructional programs
of the College. Library Services serves the entire College population
in support of the educational priorities and goals developed by the College.
Selected services and resources are also provided to serve the community’s
educational needs.
Library
Collections
Book
collection of over 39,000 volumes, with specialized holdings
in art, floriculture, interior design, nursing, photography, and pottery.
Subscriptions
to over 270 periodicals and newspapers.
Audiovisual
collection of over 5,000 titles.
Variety
of microform materials, including the Furniture Library Microfiche Collection
from the Bienenstock Furniture Library in High Point, N.C.
Operating Hours
Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Occasional Saturdays during fall and spring semesters.
Access Services
Library
catalog, as well as the catalogs of other CCLINC consortium libraries,
on-line at www.cclinc.ncccs.cc.nc.us.
Circulation
of library materials to RCC students, faculty, and staff, as well as adults
in the community.
Reserve
materials available according to faculty loan restrictions.
Interlibrary
loan from participating community college libraries through CCLINC resource
sharing and from other libraries through OCLC.
Reference Services
Professional
and paraprofessional staff trained to assist individuals with their information
needs.
Reference
collection that includes a variety of print, non-print, and online resources.
Access
to NC LIVE at www.nclive.org
that includes many full-text articles from journals and periodicals by
such companies as EBSCOhost, Gale, OCLC, and ProQuest.
Access
to selected online reference databases at http://library.randolph.edu/
to supplement NC LIVE. Included are Biography Resource Center, College
Source Online, Literature Resource Center, LOISLaw, Opposing Viewpoints,
and ProQuest Nursing Journals.
Access
to the Internet.
Computers
dedicated to research needs and to the library’s automated catalog.
Photocopier and
microform digital scanner.

instruction tailored to the educational needs of the course.

Twenty-eight
computers with up-to-date software that includes Microsoft Word, Excel,
Access, PowerPoint, and Works as well as other course-specific software.
Scanners.
Black & white and color printing for a nominal fee.
Room
available for small group work or training.
Lab assistant
available to assist with selected computing needs.
